2nd & 5th Year Geography Field Trip

On 11th May, a group of 2nd & 5th year Geography students set out on a field trip to Powerscourt Waterfall in Co. Wicklow and Zipit in Co. Dublin.

A great morning was had by all in Zipit, a popular tertiary economic activity in the Dublin mountains. For some students, it was their first experience of zip lining and a high ropes/obstacle course. Excellent participation and determination was shown by all.

In the afternoon we visited Powerscourt Waterfall. Students undertook a study of the River Dargle, measuring its speed, width, depth etc. and identified the various river processes, features etc. we’ve studied in class. Fantastic group work by all.

Well done to all for making the trip such a success. I look forward to our next Geography field trip.
