Junior Cycle

The Junior Cycle at Grange Community College covers the first three years of the secondary school experience and provides students with a broad, balanced, and engaging education. During this time, students have the opportunity to study a wide and diverse range of subjects, allowing them to explore their interests, develop key skills, and build a strong academic foundation.

At Grange Community College, we are committed to delivering an inclusive and holistic Junior Cycle curriculum. We cater for the varied needs and abilities of all learners through the provision of the Junior Cycle (JC), the Junior Cycle Schools Programme (JCSP), and Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LP). These programmes ensure that every student is supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment.

Assessment is an important part of the Junior Cycle. Students are assessed on an ongoing basis through classroom-based assessments as well as formal examinations. At the end of third year, students complete state examinations administered by the State Examinations Commission.

Overall, our Junior Cycle programme aims to foster a love of learning, promote personal development, and equip students with the skills and confidence needed for future success
