Learning & Language Support

Teaching & Learning Support

At Grange Community College, we are proud to have a dedicated Additional Educational Needs (AEN) team, alongside our teaching staff and Special Needs Assistants (SNAs), who work collaboratively to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Through differentiated teaching strategies and carefully planned, diverse learning experiences, we strive to meet the wide range of abilities, interests, and learning styles within our school community.

Grange Community College has completed the Provision Mapping process, allowing us to clearly identify and deliver targeted supports at three levels: for all students, for some students, and for those with more complex or additional needs. This structured approach ensures that supports are appropriate, effective, and responsive to individual student requirements. Where appropriate, additional supports such as in-class assistance, small group work, or targeted interventions are provided to enhance student learning and wellbeing.

We value strong collaboration with parents/guardians and outside professionals to ensure each student’s needs are understood and supported effectively

Language Support (EAL)

At Grange Community College, we are committed to supporting students for whom English is an additional language (EAL). Our language support programmes are designed to help students access the curriculum, develop their English proficiency, and feel confident participating fully in school life. Through targeted support, inclusive classroom practices, and a welcoming environment, we empower students to achieve their full potential.

We are proud to be part of the DDLETB network as an Authorised Cambridge English Exam Centre, and we are delighted to have been officially recognised as a Cambridge English Preparation Centre for the 2025–2026 academic year. This recognition reflects the dedication and achievement of our senior cycle students who prepare for and sit Cambridge English examinations.

Our involvement with Cambridge programmes provides students with valuable opportunities to develop their language skills, build confidence, and gain internationally recognised qualifications. These experiences help open doors to further education and future career pathways, both in Ireland and abroad
