Wellbeing Programme
At Grange Community College, wellbeing is central to all aspects of school life. Guided by the DDLETB core values of Care, Respect, Excellence in Education, Community and Equality, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels valued, connected and empowered to reach their full potential.
We recognise that wellbeing is fundamental to effective teaching and learning. Our whole-school approach ensures that students are supported in their social, emotional, physical and mental development through positive relationships, a broad and balanced curriculum, and a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.
Wellbeing is embedded within the curriculum in line with national guidelines. Students experience a minimum of 400 hours of wellbeing in Junior Cycle and 60 hours in Senior Cycle, delivered through subjects such as SPHE, CSPE, PE and Guidance, as well as tutorial time and other learning experiences.
Strong pastoral care structures are a key feature of our wellbeing provision. Our tutors, Year Heads, Care Team and Student Support Team work collaboratively to ensure a proactive, coordinated and caring approach to supporting all students.

Student Voice at GCC
Student voice is a central element of wellbeing in Grange Community College. We value students as active partners in shaping a positive and inclusive school environment.
Students are encouraged to share their views, participate in decision-making, and contribute to school life through initiatives such as the Student Council, Student Prefects, tutor time discussions and involvement in wellbeing and school activities.
By listening to and responding to student voice, we promote a strong sense of belonging, respect and shared responsibility within our school community.
